Greetings from the Ballinger Staff!

Malcolm Ballinger, Owner & Publisher

Hailing from the best of the British Isles, Malcolm was born and raised in Derby, England but has been living in the U.S. for longer than he lived in England. If you’re a golfer, you’ll probably meet him on the green one day.

Glenys spends most of her time giving back to the community and promoting Ballinger Publishing’s community ties. She is on the board of ARC Gateway and Big Brothers Big Sisters. She is also a volunteer with the Gulf Coast Kids House. In her free time, she enjoys beating Malcolm at golf.
Kelly Oden, Executive Editor
Kelly@ballingerpublishing.com
Phone Extension 23
Although she grew up in New Orleans, Kelly was born in Minnesota and she even spent a few pre-Big Easy childhood years right next door in Gulf Breeze. She has also lived in San Francisco and New York City. An avid traveler, Kelly has backpacked through Europe, driven across Ireland, and honeymooned in Italy. But don’t worry, she’s been happy to call Pensacola home since 2001. When the workday is done, Kelly enjoys the usual suspects: books, music, food, wine, and the excellent company of her husband Brian and their dog Ruby. They enjoy wreaking DIY havoc on their downtown home that it seems they will never finish renovating.

Emily Lullo, Editor
Phone Extension 29
Emily A. Lullo has called Pensacola home for most of her 22 years. Whilst putting the finishing touches on her philosophy and journalism degrees at the UWF, she enjoys jogging, learning tai chi and kung fu, and catching live music at area dives. She lives downtown with her chinchilla Kilgore, and enjoys commuting to work by bicycle. Her top three favorite philosophers in ascending order are Ludwig Wittgenstein, Karl Marx and Friedrich Nietzsche.

Rita Laymon, Artistic Director

Rita lives the simple life on the outside, but loves diving into complex mystery novels in her fantasy life. Married to Ken Lowery for 11 years, Rita also lives with two Lhasa Apso/Shitzu mixes. If she could be anyone in history, it would be Joan of Arc. The graphic designer with 18 years of experience loves telling the computer what to do.
