The Krewe of Avant Garde invites the community to their annual Christmas Dinner & Silent Auction event at 6 pm Dec. 18 at the Pensacola Yacht Club to show their support for our military and enjoy music, food, fun, silent auction and cash bar provided. Tickets are $35 each for non-members and can be purchased in advance for this holiday attire (coat & tie/cocktail) event.
The Krewe of Avant Garde has been in existence since 1983 with the purpose to provide a visible military presence during the Mardi Gras festivities. The Krewe participates in parades as a way to honor and support the troops. Their float can be seen in the forefront of the Pensacola Mardi Gras parade, Veteran’s Day Parade and Christmas Parade. Throughout the year, the Krewe hosts membership social events as part of the perks of joining the organization, which can be viewed on their Facebook page – Krewe of Avant Garde.
“Our Christmas event is open to the public to come and see what our Krewe is all about. Although we honor our military, you do not need to be in the military to join our organization or participate in our events,” The Krewe of Avant Garde’s president Curtis Jones said. “We are a social organization – no speeches and no agenda other than to have fun and honor those who server and have served in our military.”
The evening begins at 6 pm with a social hour followed by dinner, program and dancing.
